Coca-Cola Carcinogens

A recent article discussed Coca-Cola's globalization gift to Indian's of Plachimada and surrounding areas. The gift? Cadmium-laden waste sludge as 'free fertilizer'. (Cadmium is a carcinogen leading to kidney damage. It can also lead to mental derangement and death and in children can cause anemia and mental retardation. As fertilizer, it is useless.) In addition to its production of toxic cadmium sludge, however, Coca-Cola has also been "water mining" which is to say it has been using up all the underground water in the local area and leaving the surrounding communities without the water needed for local agriculture.
