Making the Inconceivable Obvious - Israeli Power, Palestinian Survival
When the once inconceivable becomes the obvious, all one wants to do is share it. And sharing it, of course, is something of a problem. (Have you ever tried to discuss another's inconceivable as if it were obvious?)
I hope I do not lose you when I assert that I now understand the problem in Israel-Palestine. This is not even close to saying I understand the solution. I just mean I now understand the relations that make Israel-Palestine such an intractable, violent problem. The relations are really very simple. There are two peoples but only one land. One "people" were there long ago, the other have been there all along. The one's from long ago have made a claim to it over and against the claim of those still there. Moreover, the one's from long ago have become a conquering regional super-power but the ones always there have become a near vanquished but resistant oppressed.
