Questioning Ones Convictions
I ended my last post with “The next post will provide an attempt to rethink the meaning of ‘will to truth’ and perhaps in the process, it will suggest a new tact and direction.” Rethinking - meaning reading, writing, thinking, and procrastinating about - the concept of the will to truth is taking some time. I sense that when that exploration is completed, it will entail a decidedly different take or collection of “takes” on worldly matters.
As I see it there are two basic ways to “blog”. One can blog by trying to ride on the edge of every daily “event” and turn today’s news-of-the-world into the only reality and make incessant repetitive commentary about that reality or one can - at least attempt - to think and look at matters with a measure of distance, within a more encompassing context. (Guess what kind of blog I’m working towards?)
As a sort of interlude that is also a prelude to a critical look at the notion of the will to truth here is a critical look at the poverty of convictions.
