Palestinian Unity in the Face of Foreign Deceit

May the recent Hamas-Fatah coalition merely initiate Palestinian unity in spite of the all too predictable and seemingly endless Israeli/U.S. obstacles and obsfucations to the formation of a self-governing, independent and unencumbered Palestinian nation.

Despite a last minute hiccup, Hamas ministers resigned from the government and “Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas asked Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh of Hamas to form a new unity government“. This unity is (or should be) all about Palestine and Palestinians and let Israel and the U.S. continue to implore and incite but most of all let Palestinians remain steadfast and focused on the real enemy, the nature of that enemy and what must be done to stop what this enemy is and has been doing to the Palestinians for decades.

We learn today that the U.S. has informed Abbas, “it will shun a future Hamas-Fatah coalition government because it will not explicitly recognize Israel” and, of course, Israel and the U.S. will invent excuse upon excuse to shun, withhold funds, kill (or finance the killing of) Palestinians, destroy their homes and, of course, continue to steal their land and settle it with settler/criminals (it’s called war crimes).
